"After my first 3 labors did not go the way I hoped I knew I needed a doula for our last birth. I started looking everywhere but none of them seemed like the right one. Then I found Dianne. After only talking to her on the phone I knew she was a great fit for us! She came to our house and eased my mind of all my concerns and worries.

                                      

When my labor had false alarms, she was patient. When labor finally did start, she was more than a doula. She talked to our daughters while we walked hallways. She took photos of the entire labor and birth. When I needed everyone to leave me alone so I could focus on my labor, she knew to stay back until I needed her around again. She made sure the Doctors and nurses knew of my wishes including delayed cord clamping. She helped keep the environment calm, peaceful, and relaxing. I was able to have a birth without the use of any pain medication, something I had never done before. After the baby was born she helped the baby and I bond and made sure we were on the right start to breastfeeding. And since the birth, we still keep in touch with email.

"My husband and I weren't too keen on attending birthing classes and Dianne took it upon herself to not only teach us from a doula perspective, but also provide us with education about the birthing process, motherhood and breastfeeding. We learned invaluable information from Dianne that helped us not only while giving birth, but also preparing for the birth and tips for how to care for our baby afterwards. I really appreciated all the options that Dianne was able to offer me during the birth of our baby- the TENS unit, birthing ball, "dancing" with my husband, oils, various positions, massage!- while I wasn't able to utilize all of these during my actual birth, knowing I had an arsenal of options was very comforting and encouraging to me. I ended up being induced and getting an epidural and Dianne was able to adapt to that and provide us with awesome help. She coached my husband on ways he could be in the moment, she offered pushing suggestions and never left my side. I would highly recommend Dianne Michael as a doula. I’m actually not sure whether she was more

crucial before, during, or after the birth of my son. This was my first pregnancy, and I would have been completely unprepared to make informed decisions (of which there are more to make than I ever thought possible!) about everything from choosing a provider to breastfeeding. Dianne truly cares about her clients, and I believe being a doula is her calling, not just her profession. When you’re at your most vulnerable, you will want someone like Dianne there! I had many complications during my journey, but I came away with a great birth experience thanks in large part to all of Dianne’s help. She even singlehandedly made sure we got to the bottom of my son’s severe nursing problems, and after tongue tie surgery, we are still nursing seven months later. I feel Dianne was a complete Godsend and I wish every couple could have her by their side during this most life-changing experience.
