Breastfeeding Support
La Leche League has been around since 1956. It was started by seven moms who met by chance at a park in Franklin Park, Illinois. LLL is a non-profit international organization that provides free breastfeeding help meetings at many locations around the country and world, led by leaders who have been extensively trained and educated in the most up-to-date breastfeeding information. They also provide one-on-one breastfeeding help. One of the requirements to being a La Leche League leader is that she must be a mom who has successfully breastfed her own children.
LLL was such an important part of my breastfeeding success that I became a leader when my second son was small, and now years later I became re-accredited as a LLL leader. I did this mainly so I could be of more help to my birth clients. I can help not only with initial breastfeeding but also in the weeks and months following the birth. I love talking about the many emotional and physical benefits of breastfeeding for moms and babies (and dads, too!)
Young Living Essential Oils
I use several Young Living Essential Oils to support my clients’ births that have helped with relaxation, calming a queasy stomach, and sustaining energy and I have come to appreciate Young Living oils effectiveness in my clients’ comfort.
